Dear Friends,

With Election Day and Veterans Day occuring in the same week this week, I want to pause to reflect on the enduring strength of our democracy. Our independence depends on both free and fair elections and the courage and sacrifice of the men and women in our armed forces. I wish you a pleasant and safe holiday weekend and hope you spend a quiet moment in gratitude for the soldiers who defend the liberty we all enjoy.

Sincerely,

Steve Stadelman
State Senator, 34th District

State's school safety hotline operates 24/7

It’s important that students in Illinois know they have a confidential way to share information with trusted adults. State Senator Steve Stadelman encourages students, parents and others with a school safety concern to contact the state's school safety hotline any time day or night. Call 1-844-4SAFEIL or text SAFE2 to get connected.

The hotline is operated by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency in partnership with the Illinois Department of Human Services and Illinois State Board of Education. Calls that reference immediate threats are routed to 9-1-1.
