Avoid long lines at Stadelman's mobile DVM event Dec. 2

State Senator Steve Stadelman has invited the Illinois Secretary of State to conduce a mobile Next Thursday, I am sponsoring a FREE mobile unit event at the IBEW 364 Henry Miller Banquet Hall where drivers will be able to renew their driver’s licenses and purchase vehicle stickers without having to visit a driver services facility. Come and visit us from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to renew your license without long lines!

$250 million in rent assistance available starting Dec. 6

Renters and landlords experiencing pandemic-related financial hardships can apply for a second round of assistance through the Illinois Housing Development Authority beginning Dec. 6.

In the first round of the Illinois Rental Payment program, launched in May, the Illinois Housing Development Authority approved more than 57,000 applications and paid out nearly $540 million on behalf of renters experiencing pandemic-related hardships. Since 2020, the state has provided over $776 million in emergency rental assistance to help keep more than 103,100 seniors, families and others safely housed.

The upcoming round is expected to award more than $250 million to 27,000 Illinois households. IHDA is working closely with its hired technology vendor partners to ensure the system is stable when the portal opens.
