Senator's speaking 'circuit' takes him to Guilford robotics class State Senator Steve Stadelman visited Craig Corcoran's 4th-hour robotics class Friday, where he heard about their studies, career aspirations and the Guilford High School RoboVikings team. Stadelman fielded questions about his careers in journalism and politics and discussed issues ranging from STEM education to Rockford's aerospace industry, Illinois' school funding formula and media literacy, among other topics.
'Rebuild I-39' hosts 2nd public Open House State Senator Steve Stadelman encourages interested individuals to attend an Open House event at CherryVale Mall for an update on the Interstate 39 (I-39) Corridor Reconstruction & Capacity Expansion project and a change to engage with the Illinois Department of Transportation project team. The update will focus on the innovative Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) traffic design during the open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. February 18 at CherryVale, 7200 Harrison Ave. IDOT representatives will discuss how to navigate the DDI, explain general project details, answer individual questions and record comments offered by those who attend. Project displays, factsheets, preliminary reports, maps and video demonstrations will available to view, and alll exhibits and handouts from the meeting later will be posted on the project website, RebuildI39.com. Rebuild I-39, which is currently in Phase III – Construction, aims to improve conditions at the interchanges, reduce congestion on the roadways, improve safety and provide continuity with adjacent roadways.
